Did you know that the New York Public Library has been in more movies than Meryl Streep? No, me neither, but now we do!
Last night I did the evening bus tour which was awesome, although we were just a little early for the Empire State Building to have its lights on!
This morning I was up and our sharpish to visit Ellen’s Starlight Diner. The servers are all singing (and serving) their way to Broadway. It wasn’t even 8am when I arrived, but boy was I treated to the most amazing show!
I bought myself a 72hr hop on/off bus ticket before I arrived and used the night tour yesterday and the day tour this morning. The traffic was crazy and I thought I’d hop on again tomorrow however, the Knicks have a ticker (or is it ticket) tape parade through most of the main streets tomorrow for winning the NBA, their first in 53 years. Sounds a bit like Scotland getting to the World Cup!
I wandered round Central Park for a wee while this afternoon and treated myself to lunch at Tavern on the Green! I was brought quickly back to reality on leaving the Tavern as right outside there had been an incident with one of the horse & carts that tour the park and unfortunately an 18 year old lost their life. There have been many different incidents over the years with the horses in Central Park. I believe that these horse rides should come to an end. It was 24 degrees today, due to get up to 32 tomorrow. That’s no temperature for us to be out and about working, never mind the horses!
Due to the road and subway closures tomorrow it will be a day of walking! Oh, and getting my laundry done first thing too – the glamour!
More soon!
