Fat Shaming in LA

It’s true, I was fat shamed in LA today. I say LA, it was actually in Santa Monica.

Santa Monica beach has a pier with various attractions on it, jusr my kind of fun. On approaching the pier I see they have a carousel. I love carousels so quickly got my $3 to give to the girl (funny how the coins seemed to confuse her) who passed me a blue tear off ticket, who I gave to a womsn less than 2ft away…

I found myself a beautiful black horse snd waited a minute or two but nobody else seemed to be coming.

Then something very weird happened. Woman: “you can get on the outside horses.” Me: “no thanks,I’m fine here.” Woman: “you need to get on.tbe outside horses.” Me: “why?” Woman: “there’s a weight limit.” Me: “yes,I know I’m under that weight.”

I won’t bore you with anymore of this sorry tale, but I got my $3 back and flouced off in front of the crowd who of course had just arrived in time to watch this all play out!

I’ll be honest, I was hurt, upset and angry. It coukd have been handled in a much better way. Of they’d had scales available I’d have gladly stood in them. If you have a weight limit then enforce it fairly and accurately, don’t judge me by the way I look and think you know my weight, that’s just wrong!
