Bears. But without the lions and tigers today!

In this next clip there are three brown bears – honest! The one in the middle is the male called JB. He lifted his head every so often, but that was about as much as he seemed to be able to muster!

This was a visit to Alaska Wildlife Conservation Centre today. They are a non-profit sanctuary that provides a permanent home for orphaned, injured or displaced Alaskan animals. It is the closest I think I’ll ever get to seeing wild native Alaskan animals! As well as the bears, I saw Moose, Muskoxen, Caribou, Elk, Fox, Lynx, Great-Horned Owl, Reindeer, Wolves, Wood Bison and Porcupines – kind of but they were hiding!

On the return journey to Anchorage the views around every corner were stunning once again.

We saw Byron, Portage and Middle Glaciers. However, I think the most stunning view for me was of Explorer Glacier. I stuck my hand in that water and oh boy, it sure was cold!

Tonight is my last night in the US on this trip! I can’t believe that I’ve made it this far on my own with nothing major going wrong! Incredible.

I’ll no doubt do a wee reflection post over the next few days of my travels across the US, but for now I’m going to attempt to pick my suitcase lock with a kirby grip/bobby pin.

I said nothing major had gone wrong, not nothing! Haha.
