I do like these hop on, hop off bus tours! If you’ve been here since the start, you’ll remember I did the hop on, hop off in New York. It included a NYC by night tour, was mid to late June, the sun was shining, the city was light until 8pm…

Last night I did the Sydney by Night tour – it wasn’t quite the same!

Despite the wind, and the guide who spoke so quietly it was difficult to hear him over the traffic and the wind, it was quite good to see the lights of the city!

Today I did the blue line of the hop on/off tour. The blue line takes you all the way out to Bondi and Centennial Park.

I’ve not walked too far over the last week or so, so today I got off at Centennial Park and walked all the way through Bondi Junction to Bondi Beach – it was a trek, but the views were more than worth it!

I love walking along the beach in the UK in winter. Not normally along the sand, usually on the Promenade right enough, with the wind and rain battering to clear everything out my head. Mind you – I could get used to Bondi in Winter!

Talking about Bondi in Winter, it was 18 degrees today. This wee wummin clearly felt the cold!

I hopped back on the bus a few hours later ready to get off again once the bus got back into Sydney centre alas that didn’t quite work out! The bus got a puncture on the way back and so we had to wait for the next bus. I waited for what felt like 15 minutes but was maybe only about 10 until I lost my patience. Five people on board (including me) all waiting. So what happens while we wait? One couple decide to make calls, yes, sitting next to each other making separate calls and the other couple, (who decided to sit behind me) deciding to put their phone on and watch videos – at quite a high volume! I’m not good with some people in certain situations (their stupidity mostly) so decided to get off and walk to the next stop. The driver said it was too far to walk, but didn’t say anything to me when I got on at the next stop and said, “oh, that was an easy walk…”

The thing with doing the hop on/off in the winter months is the last bus is at 4pm. By the time we got back into Sydney CBD (took me a while to work out this meant Central Business District and nothing to do with medicinal hemp) I really could not be bothered in doing the last ‘hurl’ around the city – that’s the plan for tomorrow!
