Terima – dactyl?

Please note, that is not actually how you say thank you in Malay! It is indeed Terima kasih!

Yes indeed, I had a complete mind blank yesterday and went with Terima dactyl…I did wonder why I got an odd look, people are normally quite good if you try at least a phrase or two in the local language. I guess that is only true if you get the words right!

I’m in Kuala Lumpur (KL)! This is another new destination for me and for the first time in this trip, I really don’t need to do very much. My dear friend Douglas loves KL and so we have timed it perfectly to meet up. Indeed, we made the front page news here…

It is so humid here so we are making the best of the early mornings! You realise you are getting old when you are up and out early because it’s too hot later and you need bed at 10pm!

Yesterday was a bit of getting our bearings, learning the transport system (well Douglas teaching me) and finding the pork ball noodle soup of Douglas! Well, that and making good use of the lounge at the Sofitel here.

Today we were up and out early to get to the botanical gardens. I know – another one for me! As we had such an early start we were done in the gardens before it got too stupidly humid. The heat I tend not to mind too much, but my is it the humidity!

Douglas is one heck of a walker and so after the gardens we headed off to KLCC Park where there is a fabulous view of the Petronas towers.

There were also an awful lof of pokemon characters in the park which did confuse us a wee bit. At leadt until we found a sign in English and discovered there is a pokemon themed drone show on Saturday and Sunday evening! Neither of us really know much about Pokemon, but we might go for a wee nosey anyway!

I am thinking about when I return, and I’ll need to get some money coming in and I’m already looking for jobs however, I’m wondeting if any of you would like to buy a calender with photos of my trip.

I’m thinking I’ll probably have two available, flora & fauna and costsl views. I don’t think the cslanders will be anymore than £20, including UK postage. Pleased drop me an email, (lorraine.atherton@yahoo.com) by the end of September to indicate if you are interested and which calendar you’d like to order. You are not obliged to order and once I confirm the final cost then you can decide for sure if you’d like to go ahead.
