Those who know me, know that I’ve struggled with my weight for a long time. Between now and Thursday afternoon I need to lose a stone and I’ve no idea how to do it.
My luggage weighed 64lbs today and thankfully I was in first class giving me an allowance of 66lbs! Don’t get all excited for first class, on a 51 minute flight it meant a bigger seat and a glass of wine! I was really excited as I’d booked a window seat because it was a short flight and I was hoping to see wildlife below. Those darn clouds put a stop to that idea! However, I did get this photo on approach to the airport.

So yes, I need to get my luggage down to 50lbs for my next flight on Thursday. Any tips would be greatly appreciated! I have already got rid of one top, a swimsuit (I’ve no idea how I managed to bring three haha), a pen and a comb, so that might be half a pound…
I’m back down in Anchorage today and have booked a tour for tomorrow taking in wildlife and glaciers – it sounds great!
Before I came on this trip people were asking me how I was going to get places without driving and, to be honest up until Alaska it has been easy to do things I wanted to do. I did miss out a few things I’d have liked to have done in Fairbanks (like looking for gold), but I am learning that this trip needs to also be about resting and reflecting rather than being on the go all the time!
