Singapore!

Hello from Singapore! Another new country for me.

I arrived just after midnight on Monday night. The flight was 45 minutes late in leaving, but thankfully made up most of the time, hurrah.

Passport control was painless, but I do miss the passport stamps! This is the fourth country I’ve been in on my trip and not a stamp to prove it! I dont think me drawing stamps in it would count or indeed be legal! Despite a 20 minute delay to getting the luggage to come through, I was in my hotel room an hour after the flight landed. I call that a result!

On Tuesday evening I booked a tour which included a boat trip on the river, taking in some of the interesting sights of Singapore!

After the boat tour, we were taken to Gardens by the Bay for a magnificent light show. It was perfect timing for me, as the show on Tuesday was musical theatre themed!

I know Disney has fireworks and castles, but trees and lights also make me cry! It was only a 15 minute show but wow, it was amazing!

After this, we were taken to the esplanade/waterfront near tge Marina by the Bay hotel for their water and laser show, but we were 40 minutes early.

I generally like tours, they are usually well organised and with a good guide. I’m not saying the tour guide was vad, but the timings were not really in sync. The show in the gardens was 1945-2000 and then the laset show not until 2100. We arrived at the laser show location at 2015, 45 mins where we were told just to wait for the show, then dinner after.

Dinner was optional anyway, so I said to the guide I was going to go for a walk, do the show but would make my own way back to the hotel. I’m glad I did as I managed to eat and have a view of the show at the same time. To be honest, I didn’t yhink the show was anywherd near as good as Disney 😉

Yesterday I went back to the gardens and wow, what a sensational place. $58 for entry into three of the specialist areas with everthibg else free to wander about and look at.

The Cloud Forest,The Flower Dome and Floral Fantasy were all amazing. Funnily enough ( and I promise I didn’t know this), there was a disney echibition on!

I realised that I’d missed the last hop on bus, I’d been in the gardens for about five hours I think. I’m not convinced that anyone else would have had the patience to spend that much time in a garden with me!

What a fabulous experience and the colours are amazing. I think you’re right about toiling to find someone to spend 5 hours in the gardens.
